It happened in the room where the kids learn to create.
Soon it would be where teens come to hate.
They said some things about him that the girl did not appreciate.
She continued sitting there listening to bad things about her date.
She got very mad and soon left the table.
Little did I know her patience was unstable.
I looked over to see her next to him,
I could see her face, it looked very grim.
The guy, he sat there and thought for a while.
He slapped his hands on the table, and stood up, without a smile.
He pushed his stool back, and marched over to they.
They who had all the bad things to say.
I knew something bad was about to begin,
but no one else had noticed over the din.
He reached the table and balled up his fist,
he swung, twice, I hoped he had missed.
He did not, it collided right under the rib cage,
I could understand being mad, but not this kind of rage.
He told them to shut up and told them to stop,
then he came back to the table and sat with a plop.
One of the people that had been blabbering,
had been turning bright red, and his bag, he was gathering.
They were just warning her, and some things they said were the truth,
but in middle school, you tend to act childish, but that is youth.
We told her “That was lame”, but with a shake of her head,
muttered “It was them, it was them.” You’d think she’d wished them dead.
I glared at her and I glared at him,
the chances of me talking to them would be slim.
The next day, I returned to find her upset,
I hope he’s not suspended” she’s worried ‘bout him yet!
I thought back a year when I think I recall
that she’d said “I don’t like seeing people get hurt, it makes me want to bawl.”
Flash forward a year, and as we stand here,
the thought of it made me want to shed a tear.
She had a boyfriend and it she started acting strange,
and ditching her friends, was she becoming deranged?
I prayed for a day to come where I,
would have her as my friend, till the day I die.
But, I guess, that’s not now.
Don’t worry I won’t cry.
It’s funny how in middle school people think,
people “love”, but will be gone in a blink.
This is the problem in middle schools today,
but take your time, slow down, enjoy, soon it will all turn to gray.
Cherish your friends , try to hold them near. One day they may ditch you, they will disappear.
And Yes this did actually happen.
